My current opinion is it's highly unlikely the Lions will draft a QB in the 1st Round of the 2019 Draft.  Even more so if the Lions trade down. However saying publicly it's possible could increase the value of pick # 8.

I'm not aware of any method to spread the salary cap hit on a player traded or released beyond 2 years.

The more other NFL teams think the Lions could realistically draft a QB in Round 1, the better

I don’t know if any team will believe it; but I hope some do.

I’m not for it; and I’m not for drafting a TE in the first round either.
