Report: Dolphins tell Kyle Van Noy he’ll be released
Kyle Van Noy “surprised and disappointed” by Dolphins release
........
This news is surprising. Especially, because the Dolphins have the 8th most salary cap space at this time.
The Patriots are probably the most likely team to sign Kyle Van Noy. He turned his NFL playing career around with them. The Giants also probably will be in the mix, with the HC Joe Judge NE connection.
With Van Noy turning 30 later this, I doubt that the Lions, the team that drafted him, will even be in the mix for his services. KVN is likely going to get a much better offer from another team.

Denzel Perryman doesn’t plan to re-sign with Chargers before free agency starts
......
The only reason why I believe that the Lions have even an outside chance of signing Denzel Perryman as an UFA in the weeks ahead is Anthony Lynn was his Head Coach the previous 4 seasons.
Denzel Perryman is more of a 2 Down LB than someone is a good fit in expected passing downs. This combined with Perryman clearly seeking a contract that would pay him like a 3 Down LB and his injury history are why I hope the Lions go in another direction ( barring a much lower valued market for him ).

Detroit Lions free agency preview: More than a couple of new faces needed at linebacker
........
Jaylon Brown and Alex Anzalone are two LBs that caught my attention from this list. Both are currently 26 years and would add much needed speed at LB + an upgrade in coverage. Because of their injury histories, they likely will be at or near the Lions price range. The familiarity that Dan Campbell and Aaron Glenn have with Anzalone will help assess whether he's a good fit for the Lions.
Brad Holmes' assessment of Samson Ebukam will likely determine whether he could be in play for the Lions. One thing Ebukam has in his favor is durability. Ebukam had played in all 70 combined regular season post season LA Rams games the last 4 seasons. He doesn't turn 26 until May. Ebukam probably will be affordable. But based on Ekukam having modest production off the edge, I'm far from convinced the Lions will make a serious attempt to sign him.

Report: Vikings restructuring Anthony Barr’s contract
......
The Vikings retaining Anthony Barr and freeing up salary cap space in the process clearly increases their chances of a bounce back season in 2021. Barr has been a differential player for them. Taking nothing away for Eric Wilson, who made many big plays filling in for the injured Barr when the Vikings were in a Nickel Package, Barr's unique skill set is very difficult to replace.

Texans release LB Zach Cunningham, should the Lions have interest?
.........
The Lions probably are better off using a 53 man roster spot without Zach Cunningham, even under an NFL Veteran Minimum contract. If Cunningham clears waivers and no other team offers him a contract on their 53 man roster, a Practice Squad offer by the Lions to Cunningham would probably make sense.
