Lions DT Damon Harrison changes agents, but is a new deal coming?…………………………. This new thread relates to the following thread:Lions 2018 season Awards Bob Quinn has a history as a GM of not extending / re-structuring contracts until a year or less to the time the player is scheduled to hit the open market. With Drew Rosenhaus now in the equation, a strong push by Rosenhaus and Damon Harrison to work out a contract extension / restructure is a very realistic possibility. Probably more likely than not. How Bob Quinn and co. respond if this happens is certainly a key Lions question moving forward.

I’m comfortable with Bob Quinn’s stance that an extension for Harrison is not a priority at this time. I see little risk with waiting for a bit to see how the age vs. durability factor plays out for another season.

Joe, I definitely would support the approach you suggested. Though it would be best if Damon Harrison participates in the entire Lions off-season program, there's no question that there are risks in giving him a contract extension this year.

……
It wouldn't be surprising ( barring a contract adjustment ) if Damon Harrison reports to the Lions as late as the time that he ( and Drew Rosenhaus ) thinks he will be activated to the Lions roster for the opening game at Arizona. As a vested veteran, Harrison's salary for the entire season becomes guaranteed if he's on the 53 man roster for the regular season opener.
