Detroit Lions not ready to give up on Teez Tabor. Here's why…………………….. This new thread relates to the following thread: Lions 31, Packers 0 : Game # 16 ( 2018 ) Teez Tabor played MUCH more at CB than I thought he would in the season finale at Green Bay. I'm even factoring in the multiple injuries the Lions had at CB going into that game. In that game, Tabor was used at Nickel / Slot CB the vast majority or all of his Defensive snaps.
The Lions don't have much to lose in keeping Tabor around this off-season, training camp, and the pre-season to see if he can help the team when the games count in the standings again. However, the assumption should be made that the Lions need to address the CB position in a very meaningful way in the coming months.

MAYBE all is not lost with Teez Tabor. His admission that he needed to become “more coachable” is definitely a step in the right direction. The additional reps he’s getting, due to Darius Slay’s absence, should only help his development.

Joe, I think the 2019 season will demonstrate once and for all whether Teez Tabor has a future as an NFL CB. Any leeway Tabor received previously for being a 2nd Round is very likely isn't going to continue.

Lions’ Teez Tabor continues ascent, bumps and all
……………
It's good to see that Teez Tabor is making significant improvements. It remains to be seen if that will be enough for him to be on the 53 man opening day roster. Being tested against opposition players in joint practices and pre-season games is almost certainly going to be critical for Tabor in his quest to stick with the Lions and get plenty of regular season CB snaps.

Teez Tabor’s future in Detroit is as unclear as ever
……………..
One realistic possibility is the Lions will place Teez Tabor on Short Term I.R. If this happens, Tabor would survive the cutdown to 53. Then likely during the week leading up to the season opener at Arizona, the transaction would occur.
