Lions bring back offensive lineman via waivers, place DT Kevin Strong on injured reserve

Kevin Strong had his moments of good play this season. He's a work in progress. He's definitely someone who is worth watching next pre-season to see if he's more consistent and trying to gauge his upside potential. It's unfortunate he won't be able to even practice with the Lions the rest of this season.
Dan Skipper was coached by Jim Caldwell's staff when with the Lions. His exposure to the Patriots and Texans, staffs with major connections with the Lions brass. The Lions brass and staff was able to watch Skipper up close at the joint practices between the teams this summer in Allen Park.
Skipper is 6'10". He's the tallest player in Lions history. He was a teammate with Frank Ragnow with Arkansas.
