Joe, it wouldn't surprise me if another transaction is coming with this roster spot well before the season is over.

Lions favoring speed in backup quarterbacks under Darrell Bevell
…………..
It's not a given Jeff Driskel will become the Lions # 2 QB. Even if Driskel does emerge as the # 2 QB, can he maintain that position? So far, no one else had been able to this year.
Russell Wilson is light years better as a QB than the other QBs that have run 4.56 or better at the Combine in from the 2012 Combine on.

………….
One question that immediately comes to mind is how many practice snaps did Jeff Driskel get this past week?
Though the element of surprise is in the Lions favor, lack of overall practice time and playing against the Bears Defense isn't in the Lions favor.
The reality is a game that felt like it was going to be difficult for the Lions to win before word reached that Stafford was at best highly Questionable ( early this morning ET ) now looks like a game the Lions have a monumental task ahead.

Jeff Driskel: What the Lions are getting in their new backup QB
……………..
One X factor is Darrell Bevell as Lions Offensive Coordinator. Bevell has experience as an Offensive Coordinator with a highly mobile QB in Russell Wilson. Though Wilson has everything one would want from a QB other than size, Bevell can call plays to Jeff Driskel's strengths. A huge problem though is the lack of practice reps ( relatively speaking ).

Lions QB Jeff Driskel tosses conventional wisdom out the window
………….
Now that there's more game tape on Jeff Driskel with the Lions, I'm anticipating that opposing Defenses will try to bait Driskel into throwing across his body. Being that the Lions have played close games the first 10 games of the season, even one interception could be the difference in the outcome of a game with this team.

…………..
I'm assuming the Lions interest in bring Josh Johnson back was in the hours and days after finding out the extent of Matthew Stafford's back injury that he suffered in Oakland earlier this month.
At this point in time, it make no sense to re-sign Josh Johnson. At least with Jeff Driskel and David Blough, there's a chance one or both could be part of a sound QB formula in the future.
