Unlike the players that were able to play in the previous pre-season games, it was a bad indicator for Teez Tabor that he didn't play last night in Cleveland. I'm not surprised the Lions released him. If Tabor would have survived the cutdown to 53, I thought he would have more likely than not be placed on Short Term IR.
Because the Lions released Tabor, if he goes unclaimed off waivers, he's eligible to be signed to a Practice Squad. My guess is Tabor won't be claimed. Tabor would likeky be a serious P.S. candidate for the Lions. At least this way, he would be able to practice. That wouldn't be the case if he was on IR.
Andrew Adams wasn't a reliable enough tackler. If this was two hand touch, he probably would be on the Lions roster. Once Adams played last night AND was in the game in the 4th QTR ( a bad indicator for a veteran player in the final pre-season game ), his Lions fate appeared sealed.
Micah St.Andrews has a shot at being signed to the Luons P.S.

I have NO problem with the release of Teez Tabor. While I’m disappointed that this second round “gamble” didn’t pan out; I would’ve been more disappointed if Tabor was kept on the roster SOLELY because he was a second round pick.

Detroit Lions release Teez Tabor, Andrew Adams in first wave of cuts ……...…………….
Well stated, Joe.
When putting together this thread, I inadvertently didn't copy and paste my comments after posting thread links. They are now in the opening post of the thread.
I'm not convinced the Lions are totally moving on from Teez Tabor. I don't think any team will trade for him unless possibly it's a late round conditional trade. I think there's less than a 50-50 chance he will even be claimed off waivers.
