Detroit Lions minicamp: 5 things to watch, including Slay, Snacks whereabouts
………
Other than avoiding significant injury, the most important thing regarding the Lions Mandatory Minicamp is to see if Darius Slay and Damon Harrison show up. If one or both don't, the next question is whether Slay and / or Harrison will show up at the beginning of training camp.
Otherwise, the Minicamp is an extension of the OTAs.

Master the situation
………………….
It's evident that details, including techniques and fundamentals, are an enormous point of emphasis of Matt Patricia and his Coaching Staff. Which is a good thing.

Observations: Lions tinker with offensive line on Day 2 of minicamp
…………..
Based on the first two practices in the Mandatory Minicamp, it doesn't look like Tyrell Crosby is getting an opportunity to be a starter at Guard.
My greatest concerns with the Lions were on display in this practice:
1. The personnel in the interior Offensive Line, in terms of having a starting option who can come even remotely close to effectively replacing T.J. Lang.
2. The Lions backup QB situation.

Observations: Teez Tabor’s nice offseason hits a snag
……..
Teez Tabor more likely than not is going to hit the waiver wire at some point this year.
Andy Jones' blocking was attention getting in the 2nd half of the 2018 season. Because Jones is also a good Special Teams player, he has a very realistic chance of being on the Lions opening day roster.

Observations from Lions minicamp: It's starting to click for Teez Tabor
……..
If the Lions decide that A'Shawn Robinson isn't worth the financial investment it will take to get him signed to a new contract ( his rookie deal expires after the 2019 season ), what was mentioned in the article is an example why. It wasn't until Robinson was on the Game Day Inactive list in the 2019 MNF season opener vs. the Jets that the light went on for him. With a large amount of guaranteed money, can Robinson be trusted to be self motivated?
If Mike Ford shows enough promise at Safety, the versatility he would provide could well be the difference in him being on the opening day 53 man roster.

Detroit Lions minicamp observations: T.J. Hockenson learning on the job
………
I'm not sure what to read into Graham Glasgow not getting 1st team reps two days in a row. To me, Glasgow performed better overall at Center than at Guard in his first 3 combined seasons with the Lions.
After seeing Frank Ragnow at LG, as a rookie, have a good season, despite some struggles ( especially against all world DT Aaron Donald ), it easily could be best if Ragnow remains at LG and Glasgow at Center. With the Lions addressing RG on the open market or in a trade.
