Long time no talk Lions fans! I am writing you from my hotel room in Scottsdale! Yes, that means I am going to the Lions game on Sunday! A lot of people say we can win this game but it’s going to be a very crucial game. The first 5 games of the season are going to be challenging. If we win on Sunday that momentum will help us when we play the Chargers in our home opener. If we lose on Sunday there is a realistic chance we go 0-5. If we win, I think worst case we will be 2-3.
From what it sounds like, we got rid of the “non-believers” from last year that dragged us down. My trip last year in AZ was a bit depressing (no fault to AZ) but hopefully this trip will be a lot better! Papa joe, if you plan on going to the game/tailgate, let me know. Maybe we can meet up

Welcome Back, Batchrules!
As always, I appreciate your thoughts.
Your take regarding this game is along the lines of my take. The game concerns me mainly because of the unknown element with Kyler Murray and the overall Cardinals Offense. That much more because of the Lions likely being down 3 Defensive players the Lions are counting on this season.
I hope you have a great time at the game and on the overall trip!

Detroit Lions at Arizona Cardinals: Here's what Lions must do to start 1-0
……………..
How well the Lions run the ball and how committed the Lions are to the running game easily could be the difference in this game. Two reasons jump out:
1. An effective Lions running game should slow down the Cardinals pass rush.
2. The longer the Lions are on the field, the less the Lions Defense will be worn out dealing with the athletic ability of Kyler Murray. As much emphasis Matt Patricia has put on conditioning, the Lions Defense hasn't played close to a full NFL game this year. Plenty of rotation up front on Defense will be necessary for the Lions. Even more than in a typical regular season game.

Detroit Lions vs. Arizona Cardinals: Scouting report, prediction
……………..
Though I believe the Lions Offense should have a good performance, I'm concerned about the Lions Defense in this matchup. The combination of the unknown, the talent of Kyler Murray, the Lions injuries on Defense, and the rust factor for the Lions Defense could realistically lead to a high scoring game. Not to mention the game is in Arizona.

View from the other side: Lions vs. Cardinals
………………….
The very likely absence of Jarrad Davis is my # 1 personnel concern for the Lions heading into this game. W/o Davis at his pre-injury level, the Lions could be vulnerable both vs. the run and against the pass.
