It wouldn't be surprising if Malcolm Rodriguez is placed on IR, with the plan for Rodriguez to return later in the season.
One possibility that comes to mind is the Lions signing LB Abraham Beauplan from the Practice Squad. Beauplan performed well in the pre-season games in Kansas City and vs. Pittsburgh, after being signed following the pre-season opener at the Giants. Replacing the LB AND Special Teams contributions of Rodriguez over a several week period (if it comes to that) is easier said than done. Especially, if additional injuries occur at LB.
