Here are 15 prospects who could fit the Lions on Day 2 of NFL Draft 2019
……………….
This thread relates to the following threads:
Lions have Pick # 8 in the 2019 NFL Draft
Mock Draft ( 2019 ) - DLF Members
I think Dalton Risner will be taken in Round 2. However, I have plenty of doubts that he would provide enough value at pick # 43.
Hakeem Butler isn't my first choice at pick # 43. Yet, I think he would be a solid choice.
Justin Layne probably would make sense in the lower half of Round 2 and in Round 3. The same with Dru Samia.
Parris Campbell seems to have parts greater than the sum. He could easily go anywhere in Round 2. Yet, my hope is the Lions pass on him.
Trayvon Mullen is amongst the players I hope the Lions choose from with pick # 43, if a trade down doesn't occur. Mullen easily could be gone before pick # 43.
Michael Jordan has huge upside potential. He's clearly a work in progress. I would even be comfortable with Jordan at # 43 because of his versatility in the interior and his potential. With pick # 88 in Round 3, I would be very happy with Jordan under most scenarios. My gut feeling is the Lions prefer someone who is more ready to start at RG as a rookie than Jordan.
Byron Murphy wasn't taken in Round 1. While I prefer a bigger CB in Round 2, Murphy's ball skills, overall instincts, and quickness / movement skills makes him appealing if he's still available at # 43.
Taylor Rapp had a Pre-Draft visit with the Lions. Rapp's skills, versatility and intangibles makes him very appealing if he's available at # 43.
Chauncey Gardner-Johnson also deserves serious consideration by the Lions at # 43. Versatile playmaker at a school that Bob Quinn has gone to the well a number of times already.
At # 43, D.K. Metcalf seems like a good risk / reward selection. I would have no problem if the Lions pass on him at that spot.
Cody Ford seems like the best remaining fit at Guard for the Lions. If the Lions go for an interior O-Lineman at # 43, I hope it's Ford.
Rock Ya-Sin needs to become more physical. I'm not sold on him for the Lions at # 43 but he easily could be gone by then.
Deebo Samuel would be a great fit for the Lions because of his unique skill set and versatility. He's definitely amongst my top preferences for the Lions at # 43.
A.J. Brown has very good natural ability and production. I'm not sold though that he's a good fit from an intangible standpoint for the type of team Matt Patricia wants. He's too much of a diva. I hope the Lions pass on him at # 43, if he's still available.
Chase Winovich is a great fit for the Lions but pick # 43 probably is too high to take him. It wouldn't shock me if the Lions even took him in that spot. He's a great option at # 88 if still available. I think Winovich goes anywhere from the 2nd half of Round 2 through Round 3.
