Unless Bob Quinn would have selected Josh Allen if available, ( if the Lions remained in the pick # 8 spot ), he would have been ripped to pieces by the media and the Lions collective fan base if T.J. Hockenson was the pick. Quinn has received plenty of criticism for the Lions 2019 Day 1 and Day 2 draft decisions. But it would been somewhat close to the criticism that Giants GM Dave Gettleman is dealing with for his individual and collective decisions. Including, drafting QB Daniel Jones with pick # 6. Gettleman is being compared to Matt Millen by many Giants fans and has been tar and feathered by many in the NY Metropolitan area media and National media.

T.J. Hockenson is already a foundation piece in the Lions passing game. If Hockenson's blocking reaches the level of his receiving ability he's ALREADY exhibiting, he should be in the conversation of who is the best TE in the NFL.

Thankfully, T.J. Hockenson was able to walk and didn't need to go to a hospital. Yet, anytime a player suffers a concussion, which Hockenson apparently did, it puts him at greater risk moving forward.

The coaches have to stress to T.J. Hockenson the dangers of multiple concussions. If he continues to put himself at risk in a manner in which the risk is greater than the reward, a bad outcome is likely.
