The # 1 question mark on this end, regarding who will be playing in the Lions pre-season opener at the Giants, is will Terrion Arnold play in this game? Arnold is a player the Lions are certainly counting heavily on this season but he fits the category of a young guy (rookie).

Giovanni Manu probably won't get into the game at Tackle or Guard early on. He's much further behind in his development as an NFL player than the typical NFL rookie. I don't think it would be a good idea putting him in the game anytime soon at Tackle or Guard with Hendon Hooker (in addition to Jared Goff) as the Lions QB.

Zonovan Knight is also in the mix at RB for the Lions.


With Sione Vaki very likely going to be on the Lions opening day 53 man roster barring an injury that lands him on I.R., a RB roster spot will probably come down to Craig Reynolds, Zonovan Knight, and Jermar Jefferson. With Reynolds being the clear favorite.

The Torn Pectoral injury to Emmanuel Moseley clearly opens up more opportunities for Ennis Rakestraw Jr. to see plenty of playing time at one or more of the CB positions early in the regular season. If Ifeatu Melifonwu doesn't play tonight because of injury, Rakestraw probably will get even more Nickel CB snaps than what was anticipated going into the week.
