Special Teams will likely determine whether Malik Jefferson survives the cutdown to 53 and is on the Lions opening day 53 man roster. Jefferson has a lot of catching up to do, after not being with the Lions until after yesterday's practice. Because of Jefferson's NFL LB experience, combined with his Special Teams abilities, he probably would be heavily in the mix for a spot on the Lions Practice Squad, if he's released by the Lions and not added to another NFL roster.

Unless Malik Jefferson looks like he will be a major asset on Special Teams for the Lions, it's hard to envision him surviving the cutdown to 53.
