Though John Cominsky was used more at DT/ Interior than at DE/ Edge in the 2023 season, he's also likely in the mix for snaps at DE/ Edge in the Lions 2024 season.

Lions 2024 6th Round Pick LSU DT Mekhi Wingo is also likely in the mix for snaps at DE/ Edge.

There are plenty of options for the Lions at DE/Edge beyond Aidan Hutchinson. But regarding the pass rush dimension, there are question marks with every Lions player in the mix for snaps at DE/ Edge.

An Edge Rusher addition during Training Camp, around the time of the cutdown to 53 players, and even after Game 1 when vested veteran salaries aren't guaranteed for the entire season if the player isn't on the 53 man opening day roster, are realistic possibilities for the Lions.

Lions defensive line depth could be the strength of the defense

James Houston had 11 Defensive Snaps (and 4 Special Teams Snaps) in the NFC Championship Game at San Francisco. Houston looked rusty in the game. Training Camp and the Pre-Season games are important for him, regarding his future with the Lions. For the Lions, it's important that Houston gets back on track. Other than Aidan Hutchinson, no one on the Lions has the potential to be as impactful as a pass rusher as Houston.
