Aidan Hutchinson played well enough against the Bucs to be the NFC Defensive Player of the Week and should have one the award. If the award was called NFC Defensive MVP of the Week, it would have been a good decision to give the award to a player on a winning team in Week # 2. Defensive Player of the Week isn't about being the MOST VALUABLE. A player can't be most valuable in a game, if his team loses the game. However, Defensive Player of the Week should be on who the best Defensive Player was that week.

Great job by Aidan Hutchinson on the play, against Cardinals LT Paris Johnson Jr, the player Arizona traded up for with the Lions in the 2024 Draft, going from Pick # 12 to Pick # 6.

Mekhi Wingo contributed to that sack. I thought there was a very realistic chance that the NFL would give Aidan Hutchinson and Makhi Wingo each a 1/2 sack on the play.

I guess it needs to be repeated yet again. In 1978, then Lions rookie DE Al 'Bubba' Baker had 23 sacks. It wasn't until the 1982 season that sacks became an official NFL stat.
