Ten fits still available for Lions on Day 2 of NFL Draft
Currently, the Lions only have one pick on Day 2 of the 2024 NFL Draft: Pick # 61, in Round 2. With the Lions not having another scheduled pick until Pick # 164, in Round 5, its as least as likely that the Lions will trade down from Pick # 61, compared to keeping Pick # 61. There's a lesser chance the Lions will trade up or use a 1st or 2nd Round Pick in the 2025 Draft to trade up or get an extra 2nd Round Pick in the 2024 Draft.
This new thread relates to the following threads:

10 good candidates to be the Lions 2nd-round pick
The following is my preference order for the Lions of the 10 players listed that are still available:
1.Jackson Powers-Johnson, IOL, Oregon 2.Tyler Nubin, S, Minnesota 3.Chris Braswell, EDGE, Alabama 4.Zach Frazier, IOL, West Virginia 5.Malachi Corley, WR, Western Kentucky 6.Braden Fiske, DT, Florida State 7.Blake Fisher, OT, Notre Dame 8.Javon Bullard, S, Georgia 9.Devontez Walker, WR, North Carolina 10.Michael Hall, DT, Ohio State
Malachi Corley is the player who I projected to go to the Lions with Pick # 61 in my Mock Draft. Corley is a dynamic playmaker with the ball in his hands. He would give Ben Johnson another weapon. Corley is a much better fit for the slot, the position he had most of his snaps at with Western Kentucky, compared to on the outside. Yet, a good Offensive Coordinator (Ben Johnson is even better than good) will find ways to get the most out of Corley's skills. Corley is an asset as a blocker and overall, would be a very good Lions culture fit.
Devontez Walker transferred to North Carolina, from Kent St., for his final season of college ball. Walker helped replace WR Antoine Green (as the Tar Heels X receiver), who the Lions selected in Round 7 of the 2023 Draft. Walker reminds me of Green with his length and vertical abilities but needing work with horizontal route running.

2024 NFL mock draft for Day 2: Spencer Rattler next QB off the board, plus WRs galore during Rounds 2 and 3
Round 2 - Pick 61
Jaden Hicks S WASHINGTON STATE • SOPH • 6'3" / 212 LBS PROJECTED TEAM Detroit PROSPECT RNK 56th POSITION RNK 3rd Hicks is a large enforcer at safety with plus coverage skills. Awesome find here late in Round 2 for Detroit. ...........
Jaden Hicks appears to be one of, if not the Lions best option if the Lions keep Pick # 61. Hicks has very good to great size and is rangy. His ball skills are a positive. Tackling technique is something Hicks needs to improve on.
Michigan CB Mike Sainristil would be worth seriously considering, because the Lions would have more flexibility with using Brian Branch at Safety. Kansas DE Austin Booker and Clemson DT Ruke Orhorhoro are also options that are appealing at # 61.

NFL Rounds 2 and 3 mock draft, by Dane Brugler: Spencer Rattler to Rams; early WR run
61. Detroit Lions: Braden Fiske, DT, Florida State The Lions added a hard-nosed competitor in the first round (Terrion Arnold) and could grab a player with an even fiercer demeanor for their defensive line in Round 2. ...........
If Braden Fiske is still available, I wouldn't be surprised if the Lions ended up with Fiske at Pick # 61 or in a trade down.
Tyler Nubin, Malachi Corley, Austin Booker, Ruke Orhorhoro, Ja’Lynn Polk, and Cooper Beebe are players still available with Pick # 61 that I hope the Lions draft, compared to Fiske. With Tyler Nubin by far my top choice. Fiske is relatively close to my level of preference, compared to the other players I mentioned. If Nubin is gone and no one jumps out in place of him, trading down would be very appealing.

Day 2 NFL Mock Draft: Panthers pick CB Cooper DeJean in Round 2, QB Spencer Rattler lands with the Giants in Round 3
61) DETROIT LIONS: EDGE MARSHAWN KNEELAND, WESTERN MICHIGAN Kneeland's college competition wasn't the best, but he absolutely dominated it, especially in 2023. He has the body, explosiveness and mentality of an NFL contributor.
...................
If the first 28 players in Round 2 selected in this Mock Draft are gone, I hope the Lions stay in the Pick # 61 spot, and select Marshawn Kneeland. It would take a very good trade offer for the Lions to seriously consider trading down, with Kneeland and /or possibly Mike Sainristil still being available.

2024 NFL Draft Day 2 Mock Draft: Adonai Mitchell, Ladd McConkey continue WR run
61. Detroit Lions - Bralen Trice, Edge, Washington
The First Team All Pac-12 edge somehow managed to improve on his eye-opening 2022, recording 80 pressures with a 17.6% overall win rate (10th in P5) and 29% win percentage from true pass sets (4th in FBS). While a 7.46 RAS is a respectable score, the most important number that he posted at the Combine was his weight - 245 pounds. Trice was listed at a robust 274 pounds on the team website and his power edge profile was built on the assumption that he checks in around 260.
.............
The list of players I prefer the Lions to select with Pick # 61 is long, compared to the Lions selecting Bralen Trice. The weight variance by itself is concerning. Marshawn Kneeland would be my preference at Pick # 61, if the Lions keep the pick.

2024 NFL Draft: 10 best available prospects for Detroit Lions on Day 2
The following is my preference order for the Lions of the 10 players listed that are still available:
1.Illinois DT Johnny Newton 2.Iowa DB Cooper DeJean 3.Oregon G/C Jackson Powers-Johnson 4.Western Michigan EDGE Marshawn Kneeland 5.Michigan DB Mike Sainristil 6.BYU OL Kingsley Suamataia 7.Alabama EDGE Chris Braswell 8.Florida State WR Keon Coleman 9.West Virginia G/C Zach Frazier 10.Texas WR Adonai Mitchell
Other than Adonai Mitchell, who I have doubts about being a good Lions Culture fit, I would be happy with the Lions drafting any of the other 9 players on the list at Pick #61, or in a trade that makes sense.
