Marshawn Kneeland to Visit Lions
Marshawn Kneeland's stellar NFL Scouting Combine should put him high on the Lions draft radar

When combining that Marshawn Kneeland fits the profile of the type of player the Lions want at DE and the Lions meeting with him multiple times this off-season, the Lions probably have legitimate major interest in drafting Kneeland. His over 34 inch arm length helps compensate for his average at best 6'3" height for a DE.
While Kneeland has many positives as an NFL prospect, including his effort and leadership, his playing bend, lack of high end closing speed on the QB (which is reflective in his relatively low sack totals), and the need for more pass rush moves more likely than not will keep him out of the 1st Round of the Draft. I think Kneeland will be taken somewhere in Round 2, with him only having at most a 45 % chance of lasting to Pick # 63. The two most likely paths for the Lions to draft Kneeland, that would give the Lions value, are trading down from Pick # 29 or trading up from Pick # 61, in the latter part of Round 2. Based on a typical NFL Draft Value chart, I think the Lions landing Kneeland with either of the two options would be a good outcome.
