Cody Schrader is another prospect who reflects the grit and overall Lions culture that Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell look for. Schrader has tremendous leadership skills. He gets more out of his relatively limited abilities than the vast majority of players.
Because Schrader's size 5'8 3/8" / 202, 28 1/8" arm length, speed 4.61 40, and overall physical ability combination is at below average for an NFL RB, his upside potential is limited. He's also going to be 25 years old, with a lot of football mileage on his body.
Having said this, Schrader has already proven many skeptics wrong. He's all out player with great concentration. He rarely fumbles or drops passes. He's an accomplished Special Teams Coverage player.
Schrader will probably be drafted in Round 5 or Round 6. Because the Lions are in very good shape at RB, I think Round 6 is where the Lions should seriously consider him.
