No visits for Greedy Williams
…………………………………………
Declining to have one or more workouts is understandable, as there's injury risk associated with workouts. Declining all Pre-Draft visits is something vastly different. I hope Greedy Williams is taken before pick # 8 but I'm not counting on it.

2019 NFL draft preview: Lions secondary in good shape, but could use another piece
…………………………………………………..
This is the deepest Safety crop that I can recall. Though it's around 50-50 or slightly lower that a Safety won't be drafted in Round 1, the 2nd and 3rd Rounds should be loaded with Safeties. Juan Thornhill easily could go in Round 2. I don't anticipate he will be available in Round 4.
There are many Safeties that have versatile skills in this crop. Being that I believe the need at Safety is greatly than what Kyle Meinke believes is the case, I definitely believe a Safety is in play in Round 2. Value meets need. Tavon Wilson's roles on Defense were reduced considerably in 2018 and he had to take a pay cut to avoid being a salary cap casualty last month. Andrew Adams exhibited good ball skills with Tampa Bay but he was a Non Tendered RFA. The Lions signed him to a low value contract.
I expect the Lions to draft a DB in either Round 2 or Round 3. Maybe even two. The Lions have a long term need at CB on the outside and can use more depth. It's better to have one too many than one too few.

Detroit Lions could find sweet spot for secondary help in Round 2
…...…………...……………………..
In Round 2, it wouldn't surprise me at all if a Safety is the highest valued player on the Lions draft board when pick # 43 occurs. My guess is there's going to be CB options and at least 1 Safety option with pick # 88 in Round 3 that provide at least enough value in that spot. I definitely think the Lions shouldn't take a DB in Round 1 because the value won't be there at pick # 8 or anywhere close to that spot. .
