James Houston was a 6th Round Pick (#217 overall) in the 2022 Draft.
I have mixed emotions about this Lions Transaction. While I'm very happy that James Houston is back on the Lions 53 man roster, it's sad to see Julian Okwara being released. Even knowing that he was scheduled to be a UFA this coming March. With the likelihood that both parties would go in another direction. Hopefully though, Julian Okwara clears waivers and ends up on the Lions Practice Squad.
It's good to see Julian Okwara back with the Lions. He's definitely earned being with the Lions for the remainder of the Lions season, sharing the team's success with his brother Romeo, and other Lions teammates.
Though James Houston very likely would have less than 20 Defensive Snaps (realistically not more than 15 snaps) for the Lions in the NFC Championship Game in San Francisco, even one positive impact play by Houston could turn out to be the difference in the game if he plays.
