While it's disappointing that the Cardinals claimed Trevor Nowaske off waivers from the Lions, it was evident that the Lions didn't want to lose him. The Lions signed Nowaske from the P.S. A few weeks ago after he received an offer to sign with another NFL team. With the Lions winning the NFC North Championship and having the opportunity to advance in the playoffs, some difficult decisions were necessary. My preference would have been to expose Anthony Pittman to waivers instead of Nowaske but clearly, the Lions brass values Pittman more than Nowaske.
Anthony Firkster will probably be released this coming week or in the week that follows, unless it's determined that Brock Wright will be out longer than orginally expected.
