5 bold predictions for Week 16 Vikings vs. Lions
.........
This new thread relates to the following thread:
Lions at Vikings Injury info: Game # 15 ( 2023 )
detroit-lions-forum.proboards.com/thread/1972/lions-vikings-injury-info-game?page=1&scrollTo=9500
Alim McNeill isn't eligible to be play in a game, until at least the final game of the regular season (vs. the Vikings).
This article seems heavily biased in favor of the Vikings.
The Lions lead the NFL in the least amount of rushing yards given up to RBs.
Jared Goff handled the aggressive Broncos Defense very well.
I expect Jameson Williams to have at least 1 reception in the game. If the Vikings make it a priority to keep Williams from being a major factor in the game, that should open up more opportunities for Amon-Ra St. Brown and Sam LaPorta.
The only one of these 5 predictions that I believe has at least a pretty good chance of happening is Jordan Addison outproducing Justin Jefferson, because the latter will likely be a focal point for the Lions to contain.

PFT’s Week 16 2023 NFL picks, Florio vs. Simms
Lions (-3) at Vikings
Can Minnesota keep slim hopes of a second straight division title alive?
Florio: Vikings, 24-23.
Simms: Lions, 28-24.
............
A one score game is a very realistic outcome.

Lions elevate two from practice squad to face the Vikings in Week 16
............
Without Bruce Irvin on the Game Day roster, it's imperative that Julian Okwara is on the Game Day roster. Especially, with Derrick Barnes being Doubtful for the game because of a shoulder injury. If Charles Harris isn't on the Game Day roster, barring one or more injuries to edge rush players moving forward, Harris probably has already played his last game for the Lions.

Vikings make 4 roster moves ahead of Week 16 vs. Lions
.......
The return of Jordan Hicks is a major boost for the Vikings. Hicks is the type of LB who can be effective in any Down and Distance situation. With contributions against the run, in coverage, and in blitzes/ dogs.

Vikings vs. Lions Week 16 staff preview and predictions
..........
If the Lions break even or win the takeaway vs. turnover battle, I think the Lions will end up winning this game. Even factoring in the Vikings receiving weapons, the Lions Defense has had most of their problems against much more mobile QBs than Nick Mullens. While the Vikings Defense has benefited greatly from the exotic zone blitzes by Defensive Coordinator Brian Flores, the Lions Offensive Line enters this game intact. Jared Goff is a highly experienced QB, who did a good job against the Broncos blitzes.

Behind Enemy Lines: Previewing Week 16 w/Lions Wire
.........
It's going to be a chess match between Jared Goff/ Ben Johnson vs. Brian Flores. With the Vikings probably being the NFL team that's blitzes the most this season, a huge key to this game will be how well David Montgomery, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Craig Reynolds (if he plays on Offense in this game) handle blitz pickup situations?
There's no question the Lions can't afford to let Nick Mullens get comfortable. Yet, the risk of covering Justin Jefferson in Man Coverage, without help, is very high. Aaron Glenn is going to have to pick his spots on when to send the house or even close to that.

Behind Enemy Lines: Breaking down Week 16 vs. Minnesota with Vikings Wire
.........
Crowd noise in tomorrow's game in Minnesota, is definitely a major concern on this end. Crowd noise could negate the effectiveness to some extent of the Lions high caliber Offensive Line. While there probably will be a lot of Lions fans at the game, it probably won't be even close to enough to negate the crowd noise of the Vikings fans. U.S. Bank Stadium is amongst the loudest stadiums in the NFL.

Detroit Lions predictions vs. Minnesota Vikings: A division title comes with a win
......
All 4 of the Vikings home losses were by 6 points or less. The vast majority of their games this season have been close games. They are a dangerous team that no NFL team should discount, regardless of their QB situation. Brian Flores is making a strong case, along with LA Rams Defensive Coordinator. The Vikings big play receiving abilities and having at least one playmaker on all 3 levels of their Defense, coupled with the game being in Minnesota, makes this a game the Lions can't afford to have a lapse on any play. One play easily could make a difference in the outcome of the game.

Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings: Dave Birkett's scouting report, prediction
.........
Harrison Phillips had Limited Practice on Friday, after not practicing the previous 2 days. My gut feeling is Phillips will play in this game. How many plays and his level of effectiveness, because of the Back Injury, are huge question marks? Frank Ragnow is dealing with an assortment of injuries but practiced in Full on Wednesday and Friday. With Thursday, his weekly day off because of maintenance. Hence, relatively speaking, Ragnow is probably the healthier player at this time. The matchup between Ragnow and Phillips when the Lions run the ball, probably will go along way in terms of the outcome of the game. The same in the passing game with Penei Sewell (and Taylor Decker) vs. Danielle Hunter. The latter has given the Lions Offensive Tackles PLENTTY of problems over the years. Differential player!
