Lions at Bears Injury info: Game # 13 ( 2023 )
detroit-lions-forum.proboards.com/thread/1960/lions-bears-injury-info-game
Jared Goff helped lead the Lions to a comeback win in Chicago last season. Former Lions/ current Falcons CB Jeff Okudah had an interception return for a TD in the 2nd half of the Lions comeback win. Aidan Hutchinson's depth in coverage contributed greatly to the Justin Fields interception.
Right now, I believe the Bears are the more likely team to win this game, regardless of the Lions being 3 point favorites and 5 games better in the standings. The Bears are relatively healthy. The Lions already lost Alim McNeill, with Frank Ragnow very likely to miss this game as well. The Lions barely beat the Bears in Detroit 18 days ago, even with being at home, with the Ford Field crowd providing the Lions with a major advantage. In Chicago, without the benefits of the Lions being indoors at home, with the Bears well rested and relatively healthy coming off their bye, and the Bears ticked off that they let the game in Detroit get away after they led by 12 points late in the game, this feels like the perfect storm the Lions are facing. It wouldn't even surprise me if this game isn't close. If the Lions win this game, it might even be an even more impressive win than winning in Kansas City in the Thursday Night NFL season opener.

5 things to know ahead of Bears vs. Lions in Week 14
........
NFL Injury Designations for a Sunday game, such as Questionable, Doubtful, and Out, aren't made until the Friday leading up to the game.
The Bears aren't out of the NFC Playoff Race. They are a dangerous team.

Statistical Breakdown: How the Bears and Lions stack up before Week 14 game
..........
The Bears are playing MUCH better than they did in the first 3 games this season. Especially, when Justin Fields has been in the game at QB for them. The Lions are 3-1 since the team's bye following the MNF win over the Raiders. Yet, all 3 wins were close games in which the Lions Defense didn't play well for long stretches. In addition, the Lions Offense had 3 turnovers (4 team turnovers) against the Bears in the game in Detroit. With 3 more turnovers in the loss to the Packers 4 days later on Thanksgiving Day. The Lions deserve credit for winning 3 close games since the bye. But there's plenty to be concerned about with the Lions, especially with the injuries to Alim McNeill and Frank Ragnow.

5 keys to a Bears victory over the Lions in Week 14
.........
Justin Fields is the Bears player who concerns me the most by a wide margin. Especially, with his legs. The Lions need to play with good fundamentals and discipline against Fields and the Bears overall Offense on every Defensive Snap.

3 reasons for optimism as the Bears face the Lions in Week 14
..........
The current Chicago weather forecast for tomorrow's game is cloudy, with temperatures in the mid 30s, with 11 MPH wind. IMHO, on the Chicago Lake Front, the wind could easily be significantly greater than 11 mph. The greater the wind, the harder it will be for the Lions put together long drives that will take 8 or more plays.
The loss of Frank Ragnow for this game is a huge concern, regarding the Lions staying ahead of the chains on Offense for the most part.
I'm expecting the Bears Offense to move the ball frequently. Keeping them from scoring TDs, ideally with multiple takeaways, is a key to victory for the Lions.

Behind Enemy Lines: Previewing Bears' Week 14 matchup with Lions Wire
............
I would be beyond pleasantly surprised (assuming the Lions win the game) if the Lions hold the Bears to 13 points. I think there's a better chance the Bears more than double the 13 point number than the Lions holding the Bears to 13 points or less.
With the players the Lions should have available tomorrow in Chicago, I don't think the Lions can seriously compete with the 49ers, Cowboys, or Eagles, if the Lions are on the road.
Tyson Alualu wasn't elevated from the PS for this game. This isn't surprising on this end, being that Alualu only had 3 practices with the Lions, the only 3 practices he had since the end of last season (when he was with the Steelers).

4 bold predictions for rematch of Bears vs. Lions
..........
The loss of Alim McNeill probably will be felt to at least some extent against the run. But even more so against the pass.
D'Onta Foreman, Roschon Johnson, and Khalil Herbert have split the Bears RB rushing load this season. It remains to be seen which one will be the Bears primary RB (if they even have a primary RB against the Lions tomorrow) in this game, being that they are all relatively healthy following the Bears bye. The threat of Justin Fields running or a play action fake, should open up rushing opportunities for the Bears RBs.
It remains to be seen if the Lions even attempt a FG in tomorrow's game. It wouldn't even surprise me if the Lions go for more 2 point conversions (on a % basis) than usual, if the wind conditions are significantly affecting throws and kicks.

Behind Enemy Lines: Breaking down the matchup in Chicago with Bears Wire ...........
I'm far from certain the Lions are the better team with the parameters both teams are dealing with. The Lions recent key injuries (Alim McNeill and Frank Ragnow), combined with the game being played in the outdoor elements of Soldier Field, and the Bears coming off their bye, makes this game a toss-up at best for the Lions.

Detroit Lions vs. Chicago Bears: Dave Birkett's scouting report, prediction
..........
There's a good chance that there will be more kickoff returns in this game than in the first game between the two teams. The weather elements in Chicago should lead to more kickoff return opportunities.
The Lions need to win the Special Teams battle, which is probably the Lions greatest advantage on paper going into this game.
