Disappointing but not surprising news.
In the 'Lions waive CB Starling Thomas V' thread, I expressed the following:

Even factoring in Starling Thomas V continuing to commit infractions in pass coverage that will often result in penalties, I think it was a major mistake taking the risk of exposing Thomas to waivers. A team like the Arizona Cardinals, that's clearly rebuilding, has much more to gain by claiming Thomas off waivers, than the opportunity cost of using a roster spot on him.
It's now an even greater priority for the Lions to sign CB Chase Lucas to the Practice Squad.
