Lions sign two new TEs in a slew of roster moves

Both TEs the Lions signed are journeymen NFL players that likely will be no higher than 4th in the Lions TE pecking order, barring another significant injury at the position. One or both could end up on the Lions Practice Squad, if as expected they don't survive the cutdown to 53. It's far from a given that one or both TEs even make it to the Lions final pre-season game, without being released.

Unless Darrell Daniels demonstrates that he can be amongst the Lions best Special Teams players, he's probably going to have to go the Practice Squad Route at the beginning of the regular season. Working in favor of Daniels eventually getting regular season game opportunities with the Lions is Lions TE Coach Steve Heiden was his TE Coach with the Arizona Cardinals.
