With all due respect to Aidan Hutchinson, who's a very important part of the Lions, I think the Lions non-QB MVP is Taylor Decker. With Amon-Ra St. Brown 2nd, and Alim McNeill 3rd. A team MVP isn't necessarily a team's best performer. It's the player who's most important to the success of the team. The Lions have more good depth at the positions and roles Hutchinson plays than at the positions the 3 other players I mentioned, play.

I'm not expecting Aidan Hutchinson to have as many as 3 interceptions in the 2023 season. However, a double-digit sack total is a very realistic outcome for Hutch in his 2nd season with the Lions/ NFL.

Beginning with Game # 6 at Dallas, the first game following the Lions 2022 season bye, Aidan Hutchinson made substantial improvement as a pass rusher. With a full off-season in the Lions Training and Conditioning program now under Hutchinson's belt, the learning associated with a full off-season, and another training camp with the Lions, Hutch should build on his rookie season, if he remains relatively healthy for the most part.

Josh Allen is the Jaguars best pass rusher by a sizable margin.

Travon Walker is a good run defender, who might be better suited to be a DT in expected passing situations.

Aidan Hutchinson has been a difference maker for the Lions. While I don't think Hutch is quite on the level of Micah Parson, TJ Watt, and Nick Bosa, at least at this time, Hutch is having a Pro Bowl caliber season.

A positive regarding the Vikings impressive comeback win in Atlanta this past Sunday and their overall 4 game winning streak is the Vikings now being in the thick of the NFC North Race should help keep the Lions focused on one game at a time. While the Lions are currently in a very good position to make the playoffs for the first time since the 2016 season, this season would be a disappointing outcome if the Lions don't win the NFC North Title and at least one playoff game.

I'm confident that the stage of the NFC Championship game won't be too big for the Lions. Even, factoring in that the Lions are only a win away from reaching the Super Bowl for the first time. The leadership, overall intangibles, and abilities of Aidan Hutchinson are a major reason why I am confident that the Lions will give the 49ers a heck of a battle, with at least a realistic path for the Lions to win the game.
