Regarding the trade itself, I believe the Lions made a good decision. Once DE-Edge Will Anderson was selected by the Texas with Pick # 3, after they traded up with the Cardinals from Pick # 12, I thought the best outcome would be for the Lions to trade down a few spots.
This trade reminds me to some extent of the T.J. Hockenson trade. Brad Holmes clearly believes the draft talent falls off sometime in the late 2nd Round or first half of the 3rd Round.
Of the players that were drafted from Pick # 6 to Pick # 11, the only one who I believe the Lions might have some regrets losing is Texas RB Bijan Robinson, who the Falcons drafted with Pick # 8. The foot injury that DE-Edge Tyree Wilson suffered last season, which kept him from participating in the testing and other drills at the Combine and at his Pro Day, probably contributed substantially to the Lions passing on Wilson. He was drafted by the Raiders with Pick # 7.
