Chiefs won’t use franchise tag on Orlando Brown
..........
I'm surprised that the Chiefs are letting Orlando Brown have a path to hit the open market. This is even factoring that the Chiefs are currently around $ 3.5 million over the 2023 NFL Salary Cap. Considering the value of Brown to the Patrick Mahomes led Offense and the immense struggles the Chiefs had protecting Mahomes in their 2020 Season Super Bowl loss to the Bucs, which contributed greatly to the Chiefs trading with the Ravens for Brown, they seem to be taking a huge risk by not ensuring Brown's rights for the the 2023 season.
While the Lions aren't in the market for a starting Offensive Tackle, Brown hitting the open market could make the path of signing a player at another position a little easier. It's going to cost a team plenty of salary cap space to sign Brown.

Broncos to release Graham Glasgow
..........
Graham Glasgow turns 31 this summer. While it's realistically possible the Lions brass views Glasgow as a good option as the team's starting RG, ideally, he would be quality short term depth at Guard and Center. Hank Fraley, the Lions Offensive Line Coach, was the team's Assistant O-Line Coach for Glasgow's final 2 seasons with the Lions. This should be a key factor in how Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell assess how to proceed regarding Glasgow.

Lions free agency preview: Detroit has some decisions to make at guard
........
In addition to solidifying the RG situation and having a # 2 Center who can at least hold the fort for a few weeks, the Lions need a better backup Tackle option.
Regarding the Guards, G Nate Davis, Isaac Seumalo, and G Dalton Risner could easily cost more than the Lions are willing to pay. Also, I don't think any of these 3 have Center experience, though of the 3, Davis is the most likely to have had some Center snaps along the way. Graham Glasgow is probably a more efficient option than these 3 Guards, especially with his Center versatility.
Regarding the backup T situation, ideally the Lions can get someone who would warrant being the top backup at both LT and RT. Cost will clearly be a key in the decision making process.

Jawaan Taylor agrees to four-year, $80 million deal with Chiefs
........
I definitely didn't see this coming. The contract numbers and the expectation of Jawaan Taylor being Orlando Brown's replacement at LT. I don't recall Jawaan Taylor taking a snap at LT for the Jaguars.
As happy as Jonah Jackson and his agent are from today's Guard signings, Penei Sewell and his agent must be on Cloud 9.

Bears set to sign Nate Davis
...........
Considering some of the other contracts for Offensive Lineman yesterday, the Bears appear have made a good value addition with Nate Davis.
With the investment the Lions are going to need to make to retain Jonah Jackson, it would have been difficult for the Lions to have matched the Bears contract offer for Davis.
