Lions make campus visit to vet 6-foot-7 Buffalo QB Tyree Jackson
……………………...…………….. .
Tyree Jackson seems like a boom or bust QB prospect. It wouldn't surprise me if a team even took a chance on him in Round 2. My gut feeling is Jackson goes in Round 3. I hope the Lions don't take him that early. Decision making as a QB, accuracy, and leadership are areas he has plenty of question marks at best.

Lions' draft plans not altered by offseason absence of Matthew Stafford
………………………………………………………….
If there are no trades in the top 7, I would be very surprised if more than 2 QBs are drafted before the Lions are on the clock with pick # 8. The Cardinals ( pick # 1 ) and Giants ( pick # 6 ) are the only 2 teams currently ahead of the Lions in the draft that I think realistically would draft a QB in the top 7.

Lions 2019 draft preview: Stafford a stalwart, but quarterback of future a possibility
…………………………………..
Brett Rypien is one of the more unusual players in this draft. In games, his arm strength has been below average. Yet, at the Combine, he tested as the QB with the highest velocity on his throws. His size and below average mobility might be too much for him to overcome despite high intelligence and very good overall intangibles.
Kyle Shurmur probably has a brighter future in coaching than as an NFL QB.

Lock of the week
………………………
. QB is one position in which a team that has serious interest in a player would almost certainly request a workout with him. I would be shocked if the Lions drafted Drew Lock.

More intrigue surrounding Washington’s quarterback hunt
..............
At the pick # 8 spot of the draft, Daniel Snyder and Bruce Allen easily could be tempted to move up from # 15 if Dwayne Haskins is still available. The cost to move to # 8 is noticeably less than the cost to move up to pick # 5.
