At this time, I think there's less than a 50% chance the Lions will pick up the 5th Year option on Jeff Okudah. My guess is the Lions brass doesn't envision Okudah as the # 1 CB the Lions need to compete for Super Bowls. Brad Holmes, Dan Campbell, and Aaron Glenn weren't with the Lions organization when Okudah was pick # 3 in the 2020 Draft.

When considering the long term salary cap concerns regarding Jeff Okudah, it wouldn't surprise me if the Lions trade Okudah this off-season. Maybe, even in the next couple of weeks, as the Lions assess the opportunities on the open FA market.

Based on the approach the Lions took in Free Agency earlier this month, the chances of the Lions using the 5th Year Option on Jeff Okudah seem less than 20%. The only reason why I believe there's more than a snowball's chance the Lions will use the 5th Year option on Okudah is to increase his trade value.
