PFT’s NFL Week 12 2022 picks ...........
Bills (-9.5) at Lions
MDS’s take: The annual Detroit Thanksgiving bloodbath may not be quite as ugly for the home team this year, as the Lions are riding a three-game winning streak. But it’s awfully tough to imagine them beating the Bills.
MDS’s pick: Bills 20, Lions 13.
Florio’s take: The Lions will try to feast on kneecaps before turkey. If it was anyone but the Bills, that three-game winning streak would have a great chance of extending to four.
Florio’s pick: Bills 27, Lions 20.

Keeping the Bills to under 30 points by itself is much easier said than done.

Bills at Lions: 5 things to watch for during Week 12's game
..........
With all due respect to Devin Singletary and James Cook (the younger brother of Vikings RB Dalvin Cook), Josh Allen is the Bills most dangerous runner. The Lions have to focus heavily in try to keep Allen from breaking contain, potentially helps Singletary and/ or Cook, greatly.

Bills at Lions: 3 key matchups in Week 12
..........
The matchup of Bills edge player Von Miller against LT Taylor Decker and RT Penei Sewell (depending which side of the ball Miller lines up) could easily decide the game. Miller was a differential player for the LA Rams last season, after he was acquired from the Broncos in a trade. W/o Miller, I have major doubts the Rams would have even advanced to the Super Bowl, let alone win the Super Bowl. The Lions probably are going to have to help Decker and Sewell, against Miller, on a sizable number of passing plays.

4 Lions who must have great games vs. the Bills
.........
The Bills being without huge and athletic MLB Tremaine Edmunds because of a groin injury, makes them more vulnerable in the middle of the field both against the run and the pass. The loss of Edmunds for the Bills should open up opportunities for Amon-Ra St. Brown in the middle of the field, for the Lions passing game.

Lions expecting Thanksgiving insanity as they seek first 4-game win streak since 2016
...........
One measure of progress for the Lions is comparing where the Lions are now vs. 2020. Like in 2020, the Lions enter the annual Thanksgiving Day with a 4-6 record. Unlike in 2020, when the Lions were coming off a 20-0 loss at Carolina to the P.J. Walker led Panthers, the Lions are coming off a 31-18 win on the road against a Giants team that was 7-2 entering the game. With an overall 3 game winning streak. A one sided loss vs. the Texans ended the Bob Quinn-Matt Patricia era. Regardless of what happens against the Bills on Thanksgiving Day tomorrow, the future is look bright for the Lions.

Detroit Lions are in for a long Thanksgiving in showdown vs. Buffalo Bills
........
Limiting Browns RB Nick Chubb to 19 yards on 14 carries without Tremaine Edwards helps illustrates the difficult task the Lions have in running the ball against the Bills, with Jonah Jackson out. (This is even with Edwards out of this game as well.) With RG Evan Brown also out, if the Lions can't get the running game going, the Lions will be at a major disadvantage at both Guard positions in pass protection.
