I have no idea why Jaamal Williams was penalized for Unsportsmanlike Conduct on the play, as well as fined over $13,000 by the NFL for the TD celebration. What did Williams do that warranted either, based on the NFL rules?

Jaamal Williams' 1st season with the Lions was the 2021 season, the first season of Dan Campbell being the Lions Head Coach. Williams had 3 Rushing and overall TDs in the 2021 season.

The 6 TDs that Jaamal Williams has rushing in the 2022 season is already a career high. He had 6 overall TDs as a rookie with the Packers in the 2017 season and the same in the 2019 season. Williams' 51 yard rushing TD vs. the Seahawks is a career high on the ground. He had a 54 yard reception as a rookie.

Jaamal Williams warrants serious consideration for the Weekly Ground Award. The odds are against Williams winning because the other two RBs had a much larger tangible contribution receiving. Especially, Christian McCaffrey, who had 9 receptions for 72 yards.

Congrats to Jaamal Williams on the well deserved honor and to the 6 Lions players that won an NFC Player of the Week award in the 2022 season to tie the lions 1995 season accomplishment. Jamaal Williams has been a great fit for the Lions on the field and overall. Hopefully, the two parties can come to a new contract agreement that would make sense for both the Lions and Williams.
