Even with the restructuring of Taylor Decker's contract that converts $ 6 million of 2022 base salary into signing bonus dollars, there's a pretty good chance the Lions will need to free up more salary dollars during the 2022 season. This is even with the Lions NOT adding a player during the season, that would have higher than a modest salary cap number for 2022.
