Lions sign QB Steven Montez to the practice squad

Good decision by Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell in re-signing Steven Montez to the Lions Practice Squad.
Though the Lions Offensive system has changed substantially in 2022 with Ben Johnson being promoted to Offensive Coordinator, the transition for Steven Montez should be less than it would be for the vast majority of other QBs. Montez has familiarity with Lions coaches, many of the playeirs, the team facility, and Greater Detroit in general. Montez very likely doesn't have a long term future as a Lions player. But what's needed in the remainder of this season regarding a 3rd QB with the Lions is someone who can help the team prepare for games in practice and in case the Lions need a 3rd QB in case of injuries.
