Steelers will start Mitch Trubisky at QB in preseason finale vs. Lions
......
The Lions struggled to contain mobile Falcons QBs in the first pre-season game. It's good to see that Mitch Trubisky will be starting for the Steelers against the Lions, in the pre-season finale. The Lions Defense needs the work against a highly mobile QB, with Jalen Hurts and his Eagles the Lions 1st regular season opponent.

Maurice Alexander is also in the mix for a 53 man Roster spot, because of his Return skills.
Shane Zylstra is in position to survive the cutdown to 53, especially with a good performance today.
Demetrius Taylor looks like he could be a long term solution, maybe even as a starter. There's no way the Lions should risk putting him on waivers.
Obinna Eze is going to have to go the Practice Squad route.
My guess going into today's game is Chase Lucas is going to fall short in surviving the cutdown to 53. Unless Lucas is a starter going into the season, which isn't likely, he doesn't seem to have the versatility and upside combination to survive the cutdown. He probably won't be claimed off waivers and hence would be a prime Practice Squad candidate for the Lions.
