Lions training camp notebook: The heat is on for Day 11
.........
Tracy Walker had difficulty in one on one Man Coverage in 2020, when being used more frequently in that role than in other seasons. If Walker's play in man coverage in this practice carries over to the regular season, Aaron Glenn will have that much more flexibility with his Defensive calls.
Of 'Those who won’t want to relive the drill or their performances in it:'. Derrick Barnes' Coverage issues are especially concerning.

Lions training camp notebook: Looking at the lines on Day 12
.........
John Cominsky is clearly in the mix for a spot on the Lions opening day roster. His versatility is a significant plus.
Logan Stenberg needs a strong pre-season to survive the cutdown to 53.
Craig Reynolds is making a case to be in the Lions RB rotation.
Derrick Barnes probably will make the Lions opening day 53 man roster but it might not be on merit.

Detroit Lions observations: An opponent’s take on Jared Goff, new-look offense
.........
Rodney McLeod's input about Jared Goff and the Lions overall Offense is encouraging.
Even with Romeo Okwara and Josh Okwara on the PUP list and Romeo Okwara out with an undisclosed injury, the Lions Defensive End situation looks much better than the Lions DT situation.
Unless Logan Stenberg substantially elevates his play in the final 2 pre-season games, I think he's heading to the waiver wire.

Lions practice notebook: Tuesday night lights bring the intensity
.........
Of the 6 players that didn't suit up for practice, Eric Banks is very likely going to end up on the Lions Practice Squad, if the injury he suffered isn't a major one. The same regarding Kevin Jarvis. My guess is both players would have already been placed on IR if a major injury occurred with the respective player.
C.J. Moore is on or close to the Lions roster bubble. One way or the other, I think the Lions want to keep him. If Moore is released in the cutdown to 53, without an injury designation, and is unclaimed by another team, the Lions would likely offer him a Practice Squad opportunity.
Ifeatu Melifonwu and Julian Okwara will very likely be on the Lions roster following the cutdown to 53. The next day or soon after, one or both has a very realistic chance of being placed on Short Term IR. The latter is the most likely outcome for Levi Onwuzurike, though it wouldn't be surprising on this end if the plan is for him to have surgery and he's placed on season ending IR in the cutdown process to 53. It's possible (not probable) Onwuzurike remains on the Lions 53 man roster, without being placed on either IR list.
Isaiah Buggs is in the mix for a roster spot. I think the most likely outcome with Buggs is he's released in the cutdown to 53. If he isn't claimed off waivers, which I would expect the outcome to be, Buggs would then be re-signed, with Levi Onwuzrike being placed on Short Term IR.
Bobby Price has at least a 50-50 chance to survive the cutdown to 53 because of his Special Teams value.
Saivion Smith would probably have to beat out Bobby Price to survive the cutdown to 53. My guess at this time is Smith comes up a little short. With the Lions then trying to sign Smith to the P.S., if as expected he clears waivers.
Trinity Benson more likely than not will survive the cutdown to 53, because of his combined WR/ Special Teams abilities.
