In addition to the Lions brass liking what they saw from Natrez Patrick in the recently completed Lions Rookie Minicamp, Brad Holmes' familiarity with Patrick from their days likely was a major factor in the Lions signing Patrick.

Jesse Lemonier would have had an uphill battle to be on the Lions 53 man roster at the start of the 2022 regular season. Having an opportunity with the Cardinals, at this point of the off-season, is a huge break for Lemonier. The Lions did him a favor by cutting him this week, instead of much later on this spring or summer.
