Amon-Ra St. Brown had the most catches without a drop in 2021 ...........
This new thread is a continuation of the following thread:
Round 4a: WR Amon-Ra St. Brown ( USC ) : Pick # 112 ( 2021 )
detroit-lions-forum.proboards.com/thread/1034/round-amon-brown-pick-2021
The concentration Amon- Ra St.Brown displayed as a rookie, combined with his natural abilities, was impressive to say the least. It's not the norm for a rookie WR to be even close to as consistent as St. Brown was in his rookie season..
The overall Lions WR play for the Lions clearly wasn't good enough in the 2021 season. But the unit improved substantially from the Thanksgiving Day game vs. the Bears through the remainder of the season. With St. Brown leading the way at WR for the Lions. The addition of Josh Reynolds made a major positive difference in the 6 games he played in during his 7 game stretch.

Amon-Ra St. Brown: Lions 'definitely have to get another receiver' in the draft ........
Unless the Lions trade up from pick # 32 or #34, going noticeably higher, it's not likely that the Lions will draft the type of WR Amon-Ra St. Brown is hoping the Lions add until at least with the pick # 97 (late Round 3) Draft resource. North Dakota St. WR Christian Watson is a possible exception, if available at or near the # 32 to # 34 range.

Danny Gray is one to watch. He could be available in the 3rd or possibly 4th.

Most likely, Danny Gray will more likely than not be taken by the end of the 4th Round because of his speed and playmaking skills. While Gray has good ball tracking ability, his overall drops and relative lack of strength are areas he needs to improve upon as he enters the NFL.
The Lions currently don't have a pick after # 97 late in the 3rd Round, until pick # 177 late in the 5th Round. If the Lions have serious interest in drafting Gray, pick # 97 or in a trade down not that far from pick # 97, is probably going to need to be the spot of the draft to land Gray. Even a trade down is risky, if Gray is at or near the highest remaining players on the Lions draft board.

In beefed up Detroit Lions WR corps, don’t sleep on Amon-Ra St. Brown: ‘Saint’s the guy’
.........
Amon-Ra St. Brown reminds me of Tom Brady, from the standpoint that they lasted to the 4th Round ( St.Brown ) and 6th Round ( Brady ), respectively. St. Brown seems to have a chip on his shoulder, much like Brady has had over the years. I view this as a major positive. I'm anticipating St. Brown to be highly motivated throughout his NFL playing career.

‘He’s special, man’: Amon-Ra St. Brown wowing Detroit Lions in new ways
........
As much credit as Brad Holmes and his staff deserve for the Lions selection of Amon St. Brown with pick # 112 in early Round 4, in the 2021 NFL Draft, it's safe to say that even Holmes underestimated what St. Brown is on the verge of becoming as an NFL WR with the Lions. Otherwise, St. Brown would have been selected by Holmes well beyond pick # 112.
