The Cincinnati Bengals were +20,000 to win the 2021 season Super Bowl after they started the regular season with a 1-1 record. The Bengals fell short to the LA Rams by 3 points in the Super Bowl game.

The Lions should be a longshot to win the 2022 season Super Bowl. However, the outcome of the season will be decided on the field, not by prognosticators or odds makers.

Frank Ragnow is a top 100 NFL Player, regardless that he's not even on the CBS Sports Honorable Mention list.

The Lions are entering season # 2 of a much needed rebuilding program. I like the progress and direction, even though the Lions don't compare well to most other NFL teams when it comes to high caliber proven talent.

An 8-9 record is a realistic outcome for the Lions in the 2022 season. Especially, with a favorable schedule (at this time) on paper.

I'm not surprised none of the 5 people making season predictions in this article aren't picking the Lions to make the playoffs.

I plan on making my Lions season prediction on Saturday Night or early Sunday.

For now, my Super Bowl prediction is Buffalo over Tampa Bay.

Regarding realistic outcomes, anywhere from 5 to 10 wins for the Lions this season is where I can envision the Lions finishing. With a 7-10 record probably the most likely outcome. I'm being cautious, as the Lions have higher upside. But depth is still a concern at many positions. IMHO, the Lions need to be much healthier than in recent seasons to exceed 7-10. Even with, a schedule that's favorable on paper heading into the start of the regular season.

As long as Bill Belichick is the Head Coach of the New England Patriots, I'm skeptical that the Lions will beat the Patriots on the road. By the time the Lions are in New England, Bill Belichick could easily be calling the Offensive Plays for the Patriots.
