Dalvin Cook likely out a few games with torn labrum and dislocated shoulder
............
This news is a mixed bag for Dalvin Cook and the Vikings. While the injuries Cook suffered yesterday will keep him out at least a couple of games, it's not season ending or even worse..
The Lions won't be facing Dalvin Cook for the 3rd straight time when the Vikings are the opponent. The Lions lost the first two times, both by 2 points. The 2020 season finale in Detroit was a shootout. The game at Minnesota this past October was a 19-17 low scoring game that was decided by a 54 yd GW FG by Greg Joseph on the final play if the game.

Even with Pro Bowl caliber Vikings DE Danielle Hunter out for the season with a torn pectoral injury he suffered against Dallas in a Sunday Night Football loss since the last time the Lions and Vikings played against each other in early October, the Lions would be set back substantially if Penei Sewell is out or noticeably limited against the Vikings. D.J. Wonnum had a well earned sack in the Vikings loss at SF this past Sunday.

..........
Michael Pierce was out for the first game between the Lions and Vikings. Whether Pierce will be activated for the upcoming game in Detroit remains to be seen. A relatively healthy and non-rusty Pierce would provide a huge boost for the Vikings run Defense and very likely put them in more favorable 3rd Down Defensive situations. '

Losing Christian Darrisaw for this game, on top of Dalvin Cook out, increases the chances substantially that the Lions will have a realistic path to victory in the 4th QTR. Darrisaw has been a major reason why the Vikings Offense has been one of the best in the NFL since he became a full time starter, after making his NFL debut as a part time player vs. the Lions in early October.

......
It looked like the shoulder injury Penei Sewell is dealing with occurred against the Bears in the Thanksgiving Day game.
Glad to see Big V not having an injury designation for this game.
