Report: Patriots will release Dwayne Allen

Dwayne Allen is one of the best blocking TEs in the NFL. Allen is at best a decent receiver. He's not going to win many matchups downfield. Allen has similarities to Darren Fells, as smaller version of the former Lions/ current Browns TE.

Jesse James, Pittsburgh Steelers – James is the most desirable of a weak tight end class. He’s a solid blocker who had a career-high 423 yards receiving last year, and while he won’t transform an offense he’s still coming into his own at just 24 years old.

Packers re-sign Marcedes Lewis

The contract is probably at or near the NFL Veteran Minimum.
Marcedes Lewis is for the most part a one dimensional TE. Not many TEs have been better blockers this decade +.
