From my point of view, the Lions initial Practice Squad for the 2021 season is at the very least a good overall outcome for the Lions.

I'm especially pleased that the Lions were able to sign LB Tavante Beckett, Interior Defensive Lineman Bruce Hector, DT Miles Brown, and RB Gerald Reynolds to the Practice Squad. With WR Javon McKinley, RB Dedric Mills, LB Rashod Berry, CB Nickell Robey-Coleman, and S Jalen Elliott.as players I'm glad the Lions signed to the P.S.

CB Mike Ford is the only player the Lions released who was claimed on waivers by another team ( Broncos ). Ford has value but all things considering, the Lions initial P.S. seems like a better outcome than usual.


With a 16 man P.S. , the Lions have the flexibility to keep a Kicker on the P.S. Zane Gonzalez does have plenty of ability. The Practice Squad setting is an opportunity for Gonzalez to continue to get coaching from the Lions. This time in a non-game situation.

With Tyrell Williams likely out of the game at Green Bay this coming Monday Night, adding Geronimo Allison especially makes sense when combining his experience play with the Packers. He's a prime candidate to be a P.S. call up for the game or being promoted to the 53 man roster.
