A 3-14 record for the Lions this coming season wouldn't surprise me. Anywhere from 2 to 10 wins is the range I believe the Lions will finish with. Right now, I think the Lions will exceed 3-14 when all is said and done. With a 5-12 season the most likely outcome.

Detroit Lions game-by-game predictions for 2021 season
........
Even when factoring in the Bears traded up for QB Justin Fields in the 1st Round of the 2021 Draft, if the Lions sweep the Bears, the chances of GM Ryan Pace and HC Matt Nagy being retained for the 2022 season would seem slim.
CB Malcolm Butler recently retired.
So much can change by the time each of the Lions games will be played.
At this time, a 1-4 or 0-5 start by the Lions is more likely than even a 2-3 start. If the Lions somehow are 3-2 or better after 5 games this season, Dan Campbell will be in the early conservation for NFL HC of the Year.
After the first 5 games, I am more optimistic in the Lions chances of winning more than 1 game over the next 6 games and in the final 6 game stretch.
I think the most likely outcome of the Lions season is 4-13 or 5-12. With 5-12 being my prediction, if nothing substantial chances with the Lions before the start of the opener vs. the 49ers.
Lions Predictions based on highest PFF Grades for qualifying players ( enough snaps ).

Here's how many games the Detroit Lions will win, and who'll win Super Bowl 56
.......
Even with Taylor Decker expected to be out around a month, I'm still going with a 5-12 record prediction for the Lions.
The path to even 5-12 is a somewhat more difficult because the Lions game in Chicago is in Week # 4 of the schedule. That's the game in the first 5 that I believe the Lions have the best chance to get a win. Without Decker or a rusty Decker, if he's activated for that game, the task of getting a road win against the Bears is clearly more difficult.

NFC North roundup for Week 1: The Lions are still in 1st place
.........
This thread relates to the following thread:
49ers 41, Lions 33 : Game 1 (2021 )
detroit-lions-forum.proboards.com/thread/1181/49ers-41-lions-game-2021
For the other 3 teams in the NFC North, the season is a marathon, not a sprint. For the Lions, the 2021 season is part of a much greater long term building process. With Jeff Okudah suffering a torn Achilles Tendon in the season opening loss to SF, the building process very realistically got longer.
The greatest obstacle for Matthew Stafford and the overall LA Rams this season is they are in what probably is the best Division in the NFL. A division that the NFC North teams face this season.

When will the Lions win? Breaking down the remaining schedule
.........
Relatively speaking, I'm more optimistic about the Lions chances of winning for the first time this season at Denver than at home against Minnesota. I'm not optimistic the Lions will slow down the Vikings passing game enough to pull out a victory. The Lions still haven't scored at least 20 points in a game since the season opener vs. San Francisco.

Lions shut out of PFWA's All-NFC team ...........
Not surprise at all. There's no one on the Lions that warrants being on an all NFC First Team for the 2021 season. In part, because of the injury factor.
