Report: Steve Wilks informs Cardinals staff he’s done…………………………. Three thoughts immediately come to mind:
1. It's unusual for an NFL HC to get only one season.
2. The firing of Steve Wilks today reinforces my opinions that Bruce Arians did a great job as Cardinals HC. And Arians somehow getting the Cardinals to go 8-8 in 2017, despite the team being depleted by injuries, is remarkable.
3. Unless proven otherwise in the future, right now it looks like it's a huge positive that the Lions and Steve Wilks decided not to have an interview for the team's HC opening last winter after the plan was to have an interview.

Cardinals request permission to interview Dan Campbell……………….. Dan Campbell playing under Bill Parcells, coaching under Sean Payton, and having experience as an interim NFL HC with the Dolphins for 12 games all work in his favor. Finding the right fit is critical for team and coach.

Adam Gase will interview with Jets on Friday
Gase is in Arizona now, interviewing for the Cardinals’ vacancy.
………………...
The question that immediately jumps out is would Adam Gase be comfortable enough to take the Cardinals HC if offered after the Dolphins only giving him 3 seasons as their HC? The Cardinals only give Steve Wilks one season.

Jim Caldwell interviewed with Cardinals Thursday
……………………
The heavy interest in Jim Caldwell as an NFL HC Candidate for 2019 illustrates the changed perception of many regarding the job Caldwell did with the Lions. Last winter, not one team interviewed Caldwell after he was let go by the Lions.

I’m thinking that it’s going to be Jim Caldwell out here in Arizona.

Joe, I think the Cardinals job would be a good match with Jim Caldwell for at least 3 reasons:
1. Jim Caldwell has a proven background of elevating the play of QBs with major upside potential. Josh Rosen should benefit from the plan Caldwell would have in place for him.
2. The media in Arizona is more laid back than in Detroit, New York, and Cleveland. It would be more like Indianapolis was when he was the Colts HC.
3. Austin's home is in Arizona and he would likely jump at the opportunity to be back on the Cardinals Coaching Staff. This time under Caldwell, the best of both worlds.
